Part-time Practice Accountant, Waltham Abbey £18 per hour neg

 

My client is a rapidly growing accountancy practice managed by two Directors. They advise a wide range of businesses from sole traders and partnerships to a medium sized group, operating from a modern office in the centre of town.

With increasing workloads, the Directors are seeking a good qualified accountant with practice experience who can work part-time in the business and become an important member of the team.

We are looking for someone who can provide hands on support (when needed) and also review the output of other bookkeeping staff and assist with their training. This is a long term part-time career opportunity and the practice can offer flexible hours to suit a parent wishing to work between the school run. We anticipate average hours of 12 hours per week.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to, the following for clients where appropriate:

  • hands on bookkeeping, incomplete records, analysis and reconciliation where necessary;
  • review and comment on P &L and Balance Sheet movements;
  • prepare variance analysis where relevant;
  • supervise and help the trainee;
  • review control account reconciliations and clearing any reconciling items;
  • preparation of basic reports on a monthly basis to show the financial performance of clients;
  • assist with practice work scheduling and client management; and
  • prepare lead schedules and working papers for client files;

The successful applicant will be.....

  • ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified
  • Familiar with Sage Line 50 or equivalent
  • Good excel skills and generally comfortable with MS Office
  • Living within an easy commute of Waltham Abbey (essential)
  • Able to work part-time, long term, with flexibility if deadlines need to be met
  • Accurate and numerate
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Adaptable with initiative and drive.
